Since 2008th KAPRO is part of a large family JCB. Family owned does not mean a small corporation; in fact JCB are one of the largest construction equipment companies in the world with the fastest growing dealer network in the world.

We do not want to be the biggest company in our area, we do, however want to be the best. When a customer buys a JCB, we hope they feel part of our extended family. We will do everything in our power to make this choice right for them.

1940's

Mr. Joseph Cyril Bamford (Mr. JCB) started his business on October 23, 1945 in a 12' x 15' shed the day his son Anthony was born. By the end of the decade, Bamford had 6 employees and produced the first two-wheeled, hydraulic, all-steel tipping trailer.

1945

Joe Bamford produced the first tipping trailer and sold it for 45 pounds.

1950's

JCB continued to expand its products and moved the factory to Rocester, England. The invention of the world's first backhoe loader (the MKI) allowed small contractors to have access to simple powerful earthmovers, which revolutionized the construction industry. JCB became a registered company and the first logo was developed.

1954

JCB invents the world's first backhoe loader.

1960s

JCB had massive factory expansion in the UK and doubled its production capabilities when Ford was unable to meet JCB's supply demand.
JCB's first aircraft, the "Exporter" was introduced. JCB aviation enabled customers to tour factories and see the care and detail that goes into the machines.

1969

JCB begins operations in North America.

1970's

JCB expanded to Germany, Holland, Italy and Spain. The Loadall Telescopic Handler revolutionized aspects of the building industry by allowing bricks to be lifted in pallets.
Joe Bamford retired and Anthony Bamford took over as Chairman.

1978

The Loadall Telescopic Handler is introduced.

1980s

JCB expanded its product range to wheeled and tracked excavators. JCB developed the first and still only true high-speed tractor - the Fastrac. JCB Telescopic Handler launched in the US.
JCB began to manufacture the backhoe loader in New Delhi, India.
JCB builds its 10,000th backhoe loader - the 100,000th machine to be built by JCB.

1990's

JCB invented the Robot, a unique one-arm Skid Steer Loader. JCB introduced the JS range of excavators.
The JCB GT is launched, which is a backhoe loader capable of reaching 120 mph. The 25,000th Loadall Telescopic Handler is produced.

2000's

JCB begins producing the JCB Robot Track Loader in North America. JCB produces over 160 types of machines for application ranging from the construction industry to agriculture.
JCB has 13 manufacturing plants on four continents as well as 543 dealers with 930 locations worldwide.

2000 2005 2006

JCB opens its $62 million North American Headquarters on a 1,000 acre site in Savannah, Georgia.
